The Cultural Geography Specialty Group’s request for session sponsorship for the American Association of Geographer’s 2024 Annual Meeting is now open! We’re excited to be apart of this hybrid meeting, (re)connect with existing and new AAG members, and share some amazing work in the field of cultural geographies.
The session modalities offered at this year’s meeting are:
- In-person or Virtual Paper Session (80-minute, 15-minutes per presentation)
- In-person or Virtual Poster Session (80-minute)
- In-person or Virtual Panel Session (80-minute, 4-6 panelists)
The Cultural Geography Specialty Group (CGSG) seeks to promote and encourage scholarly research and superior teaching in the field of Cultural Geography through the exchange of current thought, trends, and information focusing on all areas of the field. Topics of interest may include, but are not limited to,:
- art and artistic expression
- communities and community-based research
- contested spaces and places
- creative methodologies
- cultural ecology
- cultural heritage
- cultural landscape
- cultural movements and protest
- geographies of theatre, film, and television
- identity
- language
- literary geographies
- material culture
- migration
- music geographies
- social media
- spectral geographies and haunting
We welcome session sponsorship requests for both established sessions (existing chair and session organizers) and sessions in preparation. We are more than happy to support anyone interested in organizing a session of any modality around the breadth and depth of cultural geographies.
